Coast Die Casting Company closed their doors for a final time July 3, 2009. Coast Die Casting Company, was also known as CDC.

CDC was formerly owned by Mr. Dick Sawtelle. Dick was well respected in the die casting industry. So was his plant manager Mr. Bob Courts. Dick passed away and left CDC to his wife, Mrs. Sawtelle. Mrs Sawtelle ran the company many years successfully. When Mrs. Sawtelle passed away, Richard White, a long time employee, took over operations and purchased the business from the Sawtelle family.

Because CDC has been in existence for several years, CDC served many industries such as Consumer Products, Tooling Products, Aerospace Products and Aircraft Products.

In 2006, Kinetic Die Casting began negotiations for the purchase of CDC. There were a lot of opportunities available to CDC and Richard White at the time. Richard chose to continue operations and “weather the storm” so to speak, in his words. The economy has been very difficult for CDC, as with most die casting companies. CDC ran into a lot of difficulty over the last few years.

In 2009, Richard faced a lot more difficulty than he was prepared to meet. He ran into financial difficulties and other problems that prevented him from serving his customers. CDC was shipping jobs later and with a few quality problems. He was forced to “Out-Source” many of his production runs to satisfy his customers’ needs.

Good News For Coast Die Casting Company Customers

Richard White contacted Bob Thomas, President of Kinetic Die Casting on June 30, 2009. He asked if there was any interest in our buying his company. On July 3, 2009 we struck a deal for his business and support. Kinetic Die Casting started immediately serving the CDC customers. CDC shipped all the tooling to Kinetic Die Casting so the customers could get the parts they disparately needed right away.

What is An Aluminum Die Casting Process Company? Aluminum die casting is the process wherein molten aluminum is placed under extremely high pressure, then forced into mold cavities where they would be cooled. After cooling, the die castings would be extracted. Aluminum die casting is especially advantageous compared to other industrial processes involved in the manufacture of aluminum and other metals because die casting allows the production of the most complex shapes and even net shape, which eradicates the necessity for welding pieces together.

An aluminum parts die casting company is a corporation that is responsible for the production of aluminum die cast parts. Many of the leading manufacturing companies contract with aluminum die casting companies to produce die casting for them to be used in consumer parts and product components.

Aluminum die casting companies also have competitors; these are the companies also involved in the manufacture of aluminum but instead of die casting, employs different industrial processes. These include aluminum forging companies, aluminum stamping companies, aluminum extrusion companies, aluminum mold casting companies, aluminum sand casting companies, and aluminum plastic injection molding companies.

Today, there are numerous aluminum die casting companies because the demand for aluminum die cast parts is greater than ever. Almost every important article we consumers employ in our daily lives have parts which are produced by aluminum die casting installed in them.

The products of aluminum die casting companies include heat sinks, lighting fixtures, military parts, auto parts, handle hardware, roofing tile molds, brackets, draft angles, enclosures and housings, golf ball heaters, chocolate fountains, chassis for guitar amplifiers and more.

Aluminum Die Casting – What is it?

Aluminum Die Casting – What is it? There has been a lot of take regarding different casting methods, which is better and which one can pay more. When it comes right down to it, die casting is the most used and most preferred manufacturing process by a lot of companies today especially for making aluminium products and a variety of parts. You see, Aluminum Die Casting creates consistent and top quality results. The question now is, how is it done?

Aluminum Die Casting Company parts start with the material, aluminum. Bars and bars of aluminum are lined up and exposed into intense heat in furnaces. These furnaces will eventually melt down the aluminum into liquid, where it can then be transferred into pre-made molds. The liquid is slowly injected into these molds where it is given its new shape. To insure that it goes into every nook and cranny of the mold, pressure of about ten thousand to thirty thousand pounds per square inch/PSI is applied onto the mold. This will then be placed to rest and solidify. Once the mold is cool enough, it will be opened and the solidified aluminum would receive some finishing polishes and it’s done. Not only is it used in parts, but in creating artwork as well.

Unlike in permanent mold casting, Aluminum Parts Die Casting will have better results in terms of dimensions of the product, the quality, strength, smoothness and consistency. Other materials such as zinc and copper can be used in the same process, but aluminum is more common because it is a far more popular metal to use.
